'Omkaram', as how it is called in Vedic literature, is the primordial source of the creation. Everything is emanated from it and so will be dissolved at the end. It is not just a sacred symbol, but the essence of ultimate truth.

Meditating on Om will bring us close to that realization.

 

The more the mind is dissolved in its essence, the more it can absorb the truth.
